The Empire Cinema in Catterick Garrison has closed temporarily this evening following an incident.
It is understood a woman fell ill during a showing of Toy Story this afternoon.
Police and paramedics were called to the cinema.
Other members of the audience were moved to a different screen while the woman was treated.
An audience member said: “It was a very serious situation and the staff handled it very well.”
A spokesperson for the cinema confirmed the cinema was shut due to unforeseen circumstances.
