Details of Leyburn Christmas Festival announced

A previous Christmas Festival in Leyburn.

Details of Leyburn Christmas Festival have been announced with organisers saying it will be the biggest and best event yet.

The festival will take place in the town on Saturday, December 2 from 10am to 6pm.

There will be a large marquee in the Market Place featuring stalls from local arts and crafts producers.

Mulled wine and mince pies will also be available.

Other attractions will include fairground rides, outdoor festive stalls, music and an appearance by Father Christmas in his festive grotto.

The crowds will be entertained by Dales Community Pop and Show Choir, Leyburn Band and carols sung by local school children.

There will also be children’s activities at Leyburn Arts and Community Centre such as bauble decorating and writing letters to Santa.

There will also be a Little Alf trail where people will be invited to find Little Alf – the miniature Shetland from the book series written by Hannah Russell – across the town.

Event manager Hannah Russell said: “I am very much looking forward to this year’s event.

“The whole team has put lots of work and effort in to make it the biggest and best event yet.”
