Flooding meeting to be held in Leyburn

Residents will get the chance to hear from officials at a public meeting to discuss the flooding in Leyburn on Wednesday.

Leyburn Town Council is hosting a public meeting to discuss the recent flooding in the area on at 7pm in the Oak Room at Thornborough Hall.

There will be a question time when people will have an opportunity to share information and opinions.

Attendees will also have access to information on post flood recovery advice, how to dispose of flood waste, the Two Risings Community Foundation support fund, council tax and business rates reductions, as well as how to protect properties in the future.

Guest speakers include a representative for MP Rishi Sunak, Richmondshire District Council, North Yorkshire County Council, and the Environment Agency.

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, North Yorkshire Police and Yorkshire Water have also been invited.
