Hammock company invites Richmond residents to take a load off

Hammocks have popped up all over Richmond today as part of a stunt by a local company.

Richmond-based Simply Hammocks said they just wanted to cheer people up.

The hammocks have appeared in several locations across the town; The Bats, The Station, Riverside road and on roundabouts with the simple instructions to ‘take a load off, and have ten minutes of chill out on them.’

This story continues after the adverts:

Company founder Scott Woodhead said: “We wanted to do something to spread a little cheer, we love where we live, and with this glorious weather we thought donating some hammocks to our town would spread some summer cheer.”

Scott said hammocks have been proven to reduce anxiety, improve circulation, aid better, deeper sleep and expand your focus.

Sophie Hawksby, Simply Hammocks head of marketing, said: “We have hammocks in our office and our team meetings would not be  the same without them.

“Who said you can’t lie down on the job.”

If you take a picture of yourself in the hammock you could also win a hammock and they are offering customers a discount when using the code #HammockTakeover on the company’s website at www.simplyhammocks.co.uk
