More than a hundred people attended Leyburn Junior FC’s end of season celebration today.
The club held a tournament for players and parents at West Witton playing fields.
Eight teams of around ten players competed in a World Cup-style contest.
The games were played in a great spirit with some high-quality football and some committed performances from all ages.
There was also a barbecue, raffle and presentation to the award winners.
Club chairman Rob Wiltshire thanked the coaches and other volunteers for their help during a season which had seen all teams improve and grow in numbers with the U11s winning three trophies.
He also appealed to parents for more help running the club next season, with a new under 7s coach needed in particular.
The club has teams for children aged from 6 to 16 and welcomes new players of all ages and abilities.
