McDonalds in Catterick Garrison to close for improvements

Catterick Garrison’s McDonalds restaurant is to close for five weeks for internal and external improvement work.

The restaurant will shut from Monday, September 16 to Tuesday, October 22 for the alterations to be made.

The restaurant’s owners say the refurbishment will create 20 new jobs for the local area.

The work will include the creation of a dual lane drive-thru, as well as enhancements within the restaurant such as customer self-order kiosks as part of the upgraded dining area décor.

As part of the changes, McDonalds franchisee Matthew Midwood will become the new owner of the restaurant, which will become his third in North Yorkshire.

Matthew became a franchisee in 2017 when he took on the restaurant in Ripon after working for the company for 20 years, most recently as head of construction.

Mr Midwood, who employs over 275 staff at his three outlets, said: “I’m thrilled to be able be taking ownership of the restaurant on Richmondshire Walk as it undergoes significant investment with this refurbishment.

“I look forward to getting to know the local community and becoming an active member of it with my team.

“The makeover makes me proud to offer customers more choice as to how they enjoy their McDonald’s experience.”
