PHOTOS: Red Arrows fly over North Yorkshire for Armed Forces Day

The Red Arrows made a welcome visit to the skies above North Yorkshire yesterday to mark Armed Forces Day.

As well as a flypast over Catterick Garrison, the Hawk fast-jet display team flew over RAF Leeming and Scarborough, before returning to their base in at RAF Scampton in Lincolnshire.

Hundreds of people came out to view the spectacle, which included the renowned coloured vapour trails.

Armed Forces Day 2020 is being celebrated virtually this year by service personnel and communities across the UK due to the cancellation of events because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Here are the jet flying over Catterick Garrison, with Gaza Barracks, Princes Gate shopping centre, the Tesco supermarket, and then the Helles and Vimy barracks visible below.
