CCTV cameras cature the man walking between the two businesses.

Police have issued a fresh appeal for information about an incident of criminal damage in Hawes.

The incident happened some time between 10pm on June 25 and 9am on June 26 when damage was caused to the shop door of the Penny Garth Cafe and also a wooden bench outside the premises.

The Chippie across the road was also targeted.

As well as squirting sealant into locks and letterboxes, the vandal scrawled obscenities on the businesses’ doorsteps.

A CCTV camera at the Penny Garth captures the person, who appeared to be wearing welly boots and a thick coat, casually walking across the street between the two shops.

Police say they are appealing for information about the identity of the suspect who caused the damage.
