Rewards for women attending cervical screening appointments

Richmondshire District Council is supporting the Screening Saves Lives – a Public Health England campaign to increase the number of women attending cervical screening.

The campaign encourages women to respond to their cervical screening invitation letter, and if they missed their last screening to book an appointment at their GP practice.

The service in Richmondshire is provided by Public Health South Tees.

As part of the campaign local businesses have signed up to the Screen Stars reward scheme.

A Screen Stars card is issued by the nurse at the cervical screening appointment for a smear test.

It includes a range of offers.

In Richmondshire, businesses pledging their support for this scheme include Zen Sports and Wellness, K2 Body Art and Beauty Clinic, G’s Beauty Boutique, Ruby Arts Tattoos and Body Piercing, Sphinx Tattoo Studio.
