Santa still coming to town despite Christmas market cancellation

Leyburn’s annual Christmas market has been cancelled, however Father Christmas will still be visiting the town this weekend.

Organisers say strong winds have meant they have been unable to erect the marquee which was due to hold craft stalls and Father Christmas this Saturday.

However, Father Christmas, who is arranged by Wensleydale Round Table, will still visit the town and will be upstairs at the Bolton Arms instead.

He will be there from 11.30am to 2.30pm tomorrow.

He will be handing out sweets and listening to requests.

There will be no charge, but donations will be accepted to go to Hawes and Leyburn Scouts and Guides.
