Colburn Town Council will hold their annual clean-up which is coinciding with the Great British September Clean next weekend.

They have organised a litter pick of Colburn on Saturday, September 19 meeting at Colburn Village Hall at 10.30am.

A council spokesperson said: “We have all of the equipment needed pickers, bags and fluorescent jackets but please bring your own gloves.

“If you would like to join in please come along on Saturday morning, we will be complying with all social distancing measures and people will be put into groups of no more than 6 people.

“Control measures will be followed.”

After the litter pick, the mayor of Colburn will be supplying a free takeaway bacon buttie and a cuppa at the village hall as a thank you for residents’ help.

“We hope you will support this community effort and help us clean up our lovely town,” the spokesperson added.

“Hopefully the weather will be kind and we look forward to seeing old and new faces coming along.”
