A 12-hour danceathon is set to take over Richmond next month as fundraisers step out in support of local charity Dementia Forward.
The Danceathon Extravaganza will run from 9am to 9pm on Saturday, April 18 at the Comrades Club in Richmond, promising a packed programme of music, movement and community spirit.
Organisers say the day will feature a wide variety of dance styles, including traditional Scottish dancing, line dancing and vibrant samba sessions, before rounding off the evening with a party finale led by Jukebox Revival.
Participants can sign up for as long or as little as they like, with all ages and abilities welcome. No previous dance experience is required, just enthusiasm and a willingness to join in.
The event aims to bring people together in a fun and inclusive way while raising vital funds to support people affected by dementia across Richmond and North Yorkshire.
Sessions are priced at £5 each, with a discounted rate of £20 available for those booking four or more. Sponsorship forms are also available for anyone wishing to boost their fundraising total with support from friends, family or colleagues. Fancy dress is optional.
Hot drinks and cakes will be served throughout the day, with donations going to Dementia Forward. Organisers have thanked Chas. Long & Son for sponsoring the cake stall.
Places can be booked via the Dementia Forward website, by calling 01765 601224 or by emailing kim.ridley@dementiaforward.org.uk.
