
Twelve-year-old Hollie Bowers has returned triumphant from the Disability Artistic British Championships 2022.
The youngster, from Hunton, who trains at South Durham Gymnastics Club, attended the championships held in Cardiff last month.
Hollie has ASD and underlying kidney issues and finds gymnastics helps her condition and drives her on to succeed.
She currently trains around six hours a week.
Hollie competed against four others in her class and impressed the judges, scoring 44.40 to give her the British title.
She competed across four apparatus including floor, vault, beam and bar.
Individually, she secured first on floor and bars, and second on vault and beam.
Teammate Emily Tyler also won and became British Champion in her field as Class 1 Open Competition Senior.
There were over 63 competing in 23 categories across the day at Cardiff.
