DalesRunner welcomed 133 competitors to Muker in Swaledale for the fourth DalesRunner 30km event on Saturday.
Despite the humid conditions, 94 runners completed the 30km course, passing Keld, Ravenseat Farm and Tan Hill Inn.
37 runners completed the shorter 16km option, known as the Swinner Swagger, named after Swinner Gill through which the course follows.
Hot dogs were provided by Swaledale Scouts after the race.
Competitors were encouraged to car share through a car share raffle.
The event was supported by Swaledale Mountain Rescue team and prizes were provided by local running shop, Let’s Run.
Jess Young, from DalesRunner, said: “This is our 4th event in Muker and we are hugely grateful to the landowners for supporting the event, particularly Usha Gap Campsite and Gunnerside Estate and to Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team.
“We are delighted that participation in this event has increased again this year, with competitors from as far away as Jersey joining us here in Swaledale.”
“This year the competitors battled strong gusts, especially on the Pennine Way up at Tan Hill. But despite that, we saw some fantastic times around the course, with a new mens’ course record set by Keith Wigley of two hours and 20 minutes.”
The next DalesRunner event is on July 24 at Aske Hall near Richmond.
Entries for future events are available via the DalesRunner website at www.dalesrunner.co.uk
