Six people have been arrested as part of ongoing police activity targeting crime and antisocial behaviour in Catterick and Colburn.
The arrests relate to separate incidents involving an e-scooter, suspected shoplifting and the theft of equipment from a church.
On Monday, August 10, police were alerted by CCTV operators to reports of an e-scooter being ridden antisocially in Colburn.
Response officers and members of the local Neighbourhood Policing Team located the rider and seized the scooter.
A 14-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of driving offences and assaulting emergency workers. He was later released under investigation while enquiries continue.
Two days later, police were called to Tesco in Catterick Garrison after security staff detained a suspected shoplifter.
Officers searched the suspect and allegedly discovered a large magnetic security tag remover.
A 53-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of going equipped to steal and has since been released on bail.
Meanwhile, four men have been arrested following an investigation into the theft of property from St Cuthbert’s Church in Colburn.
Police said a resin storage shed and two lawnmowers kept inside it were stolen from the church premises over a four-week period.
The investigation by Richmondshire Neighbourhood Policing Team was supported by specialist officers and response colleagues.
Four local men, aged between 22 and 39, were arrested on suspicion of theft and conspiracy to steal.
All four have been released on conditional bail while police enquiries continue.
