Residents in Richmondshire are being invited to a series of drop-in events to learn more about the new £110m Catterick Integrated Care Centre (CICC) and the range of health services it will provide when it opens in summer 2026.

NHS Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board, working in partnership with the Ministry of Defence, is hosting a community roadshow giving people the opportunity to speak directly with staff, understand how the centre will operate and hear how it will support both local residents and military families.

Health and care teams will visit libraries, village halls, markets and other community venues throughout March and April. They will outline which services will move into the new building, explain how the centre will enhance existing NHS provision and listen to feedback from local people.

The Catterick Integrated Care Centre is described as the largest collaborative health partnership between the NHS and the MOD to date.

Designed to treat up to 1,000 people a day, the centre will bring together a wide range of non-emergency services in a modern, purpose-built environment. These will include primary care, rehabilitation, some specialist dental care, mental health support and other specialist treatments, improving access to planned care closer to home.

Emergency and specialist hospital services will continue to be delivered by existing local hospitals. The CICC will not include an Emergency Department or Urgent Treatment Centre. Instead, it is intended to complement hospital provision by expanding outpatient capacity and supporting earlier, more convenient access to routine and community-based care.

Col Tariq Ahmad, regional clinical director for Defence Primary Healthcare (North) and CICC Clinical Lead, said the new facility would bring NHS and Defence healthcare together under one roof.

“These roadshow events give us the opportunity to speak with local people, answer their questions and explain the benefits the new centre will offer,” he said.

Dr Emma O’Neill, clinical lead for North Yorkshire Place at the ICB and CICC Clinical Lead, added that the centre would provide many services closer to home and play an important role in supporting local hospitals.

“We want people to feel confident about where to go when they need care, and these sessions will help explain how the CICC fits into the wider health system,” she said.
