The #A1M is now open southbound in #NorthYorkshire, between J51 and J50, following recovery of a broken down abnormal load. This was an extremely complex operation, many thanks for your understanding and patience.

The road was shut in both directions after a vehicle carrying an abnormal road broke down.
A 120-tonne crane had to be assembled at the scene to move the load to another vehicle.
The load was a 52-tonne bridge joint and required specialist recovery.
Recovery for the broken down abnormal load is now well under way on the #A1M which is closed both ways between J51-J50. Photos from scene show the 120 tonne crane which has been constructed to transport the load to a new vehicle. Road likely to remain closed throughout the night. pic.twitter.com/FKBvkDsf72
