A66 reopens after man hurt in serious accident

The A66 has reopened following a serious accident.

The collision involved a HGV and a black SUV on the A66 near the Fox Hall Inn in the Richmond area at about 3.30pm on Sunday.

A man in the SUV was seriously injured.

The Highways Agency closed the A66 in both directions with diversions were put place around the scene.

The road was closed between Scotch Corner and the A67 junction at Bowes, but reopened at around 3am this morning.

An air ambulance was called to the scene.

Witnesses to the collision are asked to call North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2, and ask for the Major Collision Investigation Team.
