The A66 trans-Pennine route is currently closed to high-sided vehicles due to strong winds.
The closure is in operation between the A1 at Scotch Corner and the A6 near Penrith.
Lane two is also shut to other vehicles eastbound at Stainmore after a lorry overturned.
The vehicle is expected to be removed by 5.45pm today.
