A66 reopens after Portakabin removed

The A66 trans-Pennine route has reopened after a large items was removed from the carriageway.

The Portakabin which fell off a trailer on Wednesday last week has been taken away.

The snow gates were closed at Bowes and Brough at 11am to allow the work to take place.

Motorists were urged to use alternative roads if possible.

A lane two closure remained at 1.30pm on both carriageways to allow the central reservation to be repaired.
