A motorist suffered a broken leg in a collision in Wensleydale today.
The emergency services were called to the incident on the A684 between Constable Burton and Harmby just after 1apm.
Police and fire crews from Leyburn and Richmond responded to the collision which involved several vehicles.
On arrival firefighters found the occupants of one vehicle out and uninjured.
Crews used spreaders to remove the door of the second vehicle to allow access for the male driver to be extricated.
The driver suffered a suspected broken femur and was left in the care of paramedics to be transported to hospital for treatment.
Firefighters made the scene safe and left the incident in the hands of the police and ambulance crews.
The road was closed for several hours and a diversion was put in place.
