The A684 will close for bridge repairs in Wensleydale later this month.
The road will shut at Hestholme Bridge, between Swinithwaite and Aysgarth, for work to strengthen the parapet.
It is scheduled to close for five days from July 18 between the hours of 9.30am and 2.30pm.
Traffic will be diverted off at Bainbridge and Wensley and travel on the opposite side of the dale through Carperby and Redmire.
Emergency access will be maintained.
