
A man had to be cut free from his car after a accident near Leyburn.
The collision occurred between Harmby and Constable Burton near Leyburn, close to the traffic lights. The incident was reported at 7.18am.
It involved a grey Honda Civic and a silver Mercedes Sprinter panel van.
The driver of the Honda, a 25-year-old man from Leyburn, had to be cut free by the fire service.
He was taken by ambulance to Darlington Memorial Hospital for treatment for a suspected shoulder injury.
The 28-year-year-old man driving the Mercedes van was uninjured.
The stretch of road remained closed until 9.20am to allow time for the vehicles to be recovered and for highways to clear debris and oil from the surface.
Witnesses are asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 1, and speak to the Force Control Room.
