Adult volunteers wanted to help growing RAF cadets group

An RAF cadets group is recruiting new adult volunteers after seeing numbers double in the last year.

2040 (Richmond) RAF Squadron needs an instructor and civilian committee member.

The RAF Cadet Squadron is based in Richmond and the number of young people attending the group has doubled since this time last year, when a new officer commanding took charge.

The Officer in Command, Flying Officer Keith Hildred said: “We are seeking adult volunteers to support the smooth running of our ever-growing squadron.

“Our young people thrive on the opportunities available to them. With the demand for places at an all-time high, we need more adults to help.

“The role of instructor is extremely rewarding. Previous experience is desirable but not essential as training will be given. We are also in need of Civilian Committee members. These vital members help with some of the administration and financial aspects of running the Squadron”, he added.

The cadets meet twice a week at Richmond School, and take part in lots of activities and learn life skills.

If interested, please contact Flying Officer Keith Hildred by email or telephone for an informal chat.
