
Almost 70 employers will attend a jobs fair in Catterick Garrison this week with up to 300 vacancies on offer.
The event will be held from 10am to 1pm tomorrow (Wednesday) at Catterick Leisure Centre.
The event is aimed at helping Army spouses, families, veterans and the local community find work, training and support.
As well as local and national employers, there will be agencies who can offer advice and support to those attend.
Those organisations attending include Citizens Advice, Richmondshire District Council, The Beacon and Sash, money and debt advice through NatWest community banker, as well as childcare information from Homestart and Parents4parents.
There will also be specialist support provided by Army Welfare Service, The HIVE and Army Families Federation for the military families, SSAFA, War Widows Association and Veterans UK for those who have left the service.
Staff from the National Careers Service will be on hand to help with CV and career advice, and NYCC adult learning will be available to discuss courses to help people back into work.
The employers booked to attend include North Yorkshire Police, Tesco, Aramark, KFC, Greggs, Center Parcs, Body Shop at Home, FDM, Vale of Mowbray, NY Timber, JT Atkinson, MPGS, Little Explorers Nursery, Banana Moon Day Nursery as well as Army and RAF Reserves, McDonalds, Ramside Hall, Cordant Security and Make Care Matter.
There will also be a jobs boards with local vacancies for employers who are recruiting but are too short staffed to attend.
There will also be several laptops on hand for people to apply for jobs, make claims etc.
The event is being organised by the Richmond Jobcentre Plus.
