Children have been left without one of the most popular pieces of equipment at a Colburn play park after a basket swing was stolen.
Colburn Town Council said the swing was taken from Abermarle Play Park and is appealing for witnesses to come forward.
In a statement, the council said: “It is very sad to have to report that our basket swing in Abermarle Play Park has been stolen.
“Apparently there were people who saw it happen. If they would like to contact the council or private message me, I would be very grateful.
“This is a very expensive piece of equipment and now children will not have the chance to play on it. It is a popular piece for the children to play on.
“So if anyone knows anything it would be useful.”
The theft has been reported to North Yorkshire Police.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Colburn Town Council or North Yorkshire Police on 101.
