A man was seriously injured and two teenage girls were taken to hospital following a two-vehicle collision in Leyburn.
Emergency services were called to Harmby Road shortly before 7am on Thursday, June 4, after a crash involving a black BMW 4 Series and a green Toyota RAV4.
North Yorkshire Police said the BMW was travelling away from Leyburn town centre when it was involved in a collision with the Toyota, which was travelling in the opposite direction.
The three occupants of the BMW were injured. A man in his 40s suffered serious injuries, while two teenage girls sustained minor injuries. All three were taken to Darlington Hospital for treatment.
The female driver of the Toyota was not injured.
The road was closed for around three hours while emergency services attended the scene and collision investigators carried out enquiries. Harmby Road reopened at approximately 10am.
Police are now appealing for witnesses and information to help establish the circumstances surrounding the collision.

Police are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have been travelling on Harmby Road or in the surrounding area at the time of the collision and who may be able to assist with their investigation.
