Appeal after pedestrian seriously injured in collision with cyclist

A pedestrian suffered serious injuries in a collision with a cyclist.

Police have appealed for witnesses following the incident at about 9pm on Friday.

It occurred on the A6136 Leeming Lane near Catterick Village.

A cyclist collided with a man who was walking his dog on the pavement running along this road.

The pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

The cyclist stopped at the scene but did not leave any details.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and in particular we are appealing for information about the cyclist.”
