North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a marked police vehicle was involved in a collision with a car on the A684 near Leyburn.
The collision happened at about 12.50pm on Tuesday on the A684 in Wensley.
A marked Ford Ranger police vehicle and a car were involved in the incident.
Both vehicles were damaged, but no injuries were reported.
Police said the Ford Ranger was being driven by a Police Community Support Officer and was not responding to an emergency call at the time of the collision.
Enquiries into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing.
Eyewitnesses say the occupants of the car were an elderly couple.
