Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist died in a collision between the villages of Stapleton and Barton.
The crash happened on Thursday, June 25, on Stapleton Bank at the junction with Cleasby Lane and involved a white Vauxhall Vivaro van and a green Kawasaki motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, a man in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
A passenger on the motorcycle was taken to hospital, where they remain in a serious condition.
The driver of the van is assisting officers with their enquiries.
North Yorkshire Police is urging anyone who witnessed the collision, or who saw either vehicle before the crash, to come forward.
Officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone with relevant dashcam or CCTV footage.
