An appeal for information has been issued after vulgar graffiti was sprayed on walls in Colburn.

The vandalism occurred on Tuesday night at the Broadway and Colburn Business Park.

The graffiti included anti-police messages and drawings.

Richmondshire District Council has been notified and is due to remove the graffiti which is on public property.

Colburn district councillor Angie Dale urged anyone who knows those responsible to call the police on 101 or the district council on 01748 829100.

She said: “This isn’t acceptable and people must call the police if they know who was responsible or have their suspicions.

“If people don’t report problems when they occur it’s doesn’t get logged and it’s as if it hasn’t happened.”

Cllr Dale said the anti-social behaviour was caused by a very small number of young adults, rather than children.

“It’s not 50 or 100 people, it’s maybe 12 or 13,” she added.

Anyone with information should call North Yorkshire Ppol
