An appeal has gone out for new payers for local men’s football teams.
The committee of the Wensleydale Creamery League say a number of the teams which play in the league are recruiting.
League chair Danny Plumb has urged anyone interesting in playing Saturday football locally to get in touch.
“It looks like grassroots football will hopefully return in September following the FA’s recent announcement.
“There are a few teams within the Wensleydale league who are looking to recruit new players. These are clubs from both Wensleydale and Swaledale, down into Richmond and Catterick.
“We were fortunate enough to celebrate our centenary last year which was fabulous.
“What would be as good is to see lots of player put down their controllers and pick up their boots and shinnies.
“We play on a Saturday afternoon and I can guarantee any new players would be made very welcome.”
