Appeal for missing football trophy

A football league has appealed for help to find a missing trophy.

The Wensleydale Football League Junior Trophy was last played for around ten years ago.

However, league officials have since lost trace of the cup.

The trophy has significant historical value being presented to the league circa 1930 by Mr J W Metcalfe of Hawes.

Former league chairman Len Scott said: “We badly need to find it so that it can be displayed on the night of the forthcoming  centenary dinner and also to retrieve the names of the winners over the years.

“It will probably be in someone’s loft or garage and a viewing of the photo may jog their memory.”

Anyone who knows its whereabouts can email Len at scottlen@tiscali.co.uk.
