Artists take over Richmond Station’s SubStation

Artists Sue Dewhurst and Carol Watson.

Local artists Sue Dewhurst and Carol Watson are holding an exhibition of new and old art and jewellery in The Station’s SubStation.

Their work will be exhibited at the gallery at the Richmond venue from from Saturday, November 23 to Sunday, December 8, 10am to 4pm daily.

There will also be a special late night shopping extravaganza on Wednesday, December 4 as part of The Station’s social event.

Sue is having a clear the decks sale.

She said: “Some of the work I will be sad to see go, being my favourite experimental, painted sketches for my bigger Dales’ Barns.

“This is a rare opportunity to grab my more raw work never really intended for public consumption.”

Sue will also be launching her latest original painting of Richmond.

As well as displaying an established range of jewellery made with silver and semi-precious stone alongside Swarovski crystal, Carol will also be bringing her latest range of new pieces that are redesigned, redefined and ready to love again.

While their finished pieces are very different, Sue and Carol say they share a love of reacting to form and materials in a colourful and contemporary way as well as creating new from old and have thoroughly enjoyed preparing for this event.

Sue and Carol would also like to thank the Station’s Gallery co-ordinator, Jenny Rasbeary, for this opportunity to take over the SubStation for a fortnight’s collaboration.
