The Georgian Theatre Royal in Richmond is inviting local artists to take part in the next season of The Gallery, its exhibition space that showcases the work of talented creatives from across the region.
Running from February to November 2026, the exhibition offers artists an opportunity to display and sell their work in one of North Yorkshire’s most historic and atmospheric venues.
The initiative follows the huge success of the theatre’s first exhibition, which opened in March 2025 and runs until the end of October.
“This first season has been incredible,” said Jordie Gilpin, co-curator of the exhibition.
“We’ve welcomed such a diverse range of artwork, and it’s been wonderful to see audiences engaging with and enjoying the pieces. We’re really excited to offer more local artists the chance to exhibit in 2026 and share their work with our visitors.”
This is a chance to collaborate with the Theatre’s experienced and friendly curatorial team to bring colour and creativity to the walls of the Gallery Bar – a versatile space enjoyed by audiences, theatre-goers, and visitors from all over the world.
There are no restrictions on theme, style, or medium, and artists aged 16 and over are invited to submit up to three pieces for consideration. Submissions can include existing work or new creations. All artwork must be suitable for a public audience.
The exhibition is free to visit and will be open to the public during the theatre’s box office opening hours.
In lieu of commission, artists are asked to donate 20 per cent of any sales to the Georgian Theatre Royal.
The deadline for applications is 5pm on Monday 3 November 2025.
