A Richmondshire beauty salon has made a donation to a hospice charity with money raised at a Christmas shopping event.
Ginger Tree Holistic Health & Beauty at Aske Stables, near Richmond, handed over £150 to Lucy Turner, fundraising manager at Herriot Hospice Homecare.
The money was raised at a Charity Christmas Shopping Event on November 8 from the sales of raffle tickets and a matched donation from Ginger Tree.
Lucy Turner said: “We are absolutely delighted to have the continued support of Ginger Tree Holistic Health and Beauty, we rely on the generosity of our local community to continue providing free personalised end of life care to residents of Hambleton and Richmondshire, so events such as these are a great way to spread awareness as well as raise vital funds for Herriot Hospice Homecare.
“£150 could be enough to fund three bereavement sessions, helping families manage during a very difficult time.
“On behalf of all the Herriot staff, volunteers and patients- thank you.”
Clients enjoyed skin analysis, skincare advice and make overs, plus shopping in a festive environment, fun and fizz.
Kathy Scott, owner of Ginger Tree, said: “Ginger Tree has a charitable giving policy whereby we support one national charity on a monthly basis and a local charity with bi-annual events.
“Herriot Hospice Homecare has been a key service to my clients and their families at a time of immense stress.
“Many of their staff are volunteers. It’s a privilege to help a quality local charity. Thank you to everyone who came.”
