Wensleydale furniture maker Tom Addison has been able to expand the range of products he can supply through his fine furniture business thanks to a small business grant.
Tom, from Askrigg, used the £1,000 grant from Richmondshire District Council to help purchase a versatile band saw.
He said: “Being a small workshop I usually do most of the making processes by hand, but having this versatile bandsaw gives me different opportunities.
“I can now create curved pieces a lot more easily as well as cutting much larger pieces of timber.”
The scheme offers up to £1,000 to businesses less than 36 months old that employ up to five people.
The funding can be used to help with marketing, equipment or premises improvement costs.
The next application deadline is July 25.
