Award-winning author to bring musical storytelling shows to Richmondshire libraries

Award-winning children's author Gareth P. Jones.

Award-winning children’s author Gareth P. Jones will visit three Richmondshire libraries next month with a series of free interactive storytelling performances for families.

The author, performer and composer will stage mini-musical adaptations of his picture books Rabunzel and CinderGorilla at Richmond, Catterick and Colburn Community Libraries on Wednesday, August 5.

The performances combine live storytelling, music and audience participation, with organisers promising sessions full of creativity, laughter and fun while exploring themes of equality, empowerment and respect.

The events have been organised by CRACCL as part of its work to encourage a love of reading and creativity among children. They also form part of this year’s Richmond Walking and Book Festival and the Summer Reading Challenge.

The day’s performances will begin at Richmond Community Library from 10.30am to 11.30am, before moving to Catterick Community Library from 1pm to 2pm and Colburn Community Library from 3pm to 4pm.

The events are free to attend, but advance booking is essential as places are limited.
