Band reforms to perform charity gig at Richmond venue

A band is reforming for a one-off charity gig.

Isotopia will perform at the Comrades in Newbiggin, Richmond, on Friday, September 23.

All proceeds will go to Papyrus – Prevention of young suicide.

Guitar player Jonny Whatton  said local band Isotopia performed widely in the 2000s before splitting up.

“We were a very committed band, gigging often up and down the country, and recording demos, EPs and an album, which can actually be found on Spotify.

“As bands tend to do, we all went out separate ways one way or another, but have kept in touch over the years.

“I actually reside in Sydney Australia, and as I’m back in the country, we thought it would be great to get together again to do a one off charity gig for Papyrus – Prevention of young suicide, a charity close to all of us.”

Joining Isotopia on the bill are two bands from York, Foxhaunt and Third Sector.

Jonny added: “We are hoping for a great turnout for a great cause, and a strong reunion gig to showcase live music after a tough few years.

“We want to showcase Commrades as a great venue for more bands and artists to come through and include Richmond on their list of tour dates, and also for the people of Richmond to have a fantastic Friday night.”

Doors are at 730pm, and tickets are £5 with all proceeds going to Papyrus.
