Barbers proposed for former Richmond Tourist Information Centre

The former tourist information centre in Richmond.

Plans have been submitted to turn Richmond’s former tourist information centre into a barbers.

A planning application has been submitted to change the use of the building in the corner of Friary Gardens into a men’s hairdressing salon.

The business would be called The Mens Room.

This story continues after the adverts:

The plans include space for two barbers’ workstations and a treatment room.

The tourist information centre was forced to close in early 2013 when Richmondshire Leisure Trust could no longer afford to run it.

It is now based in the town’s library.

The building has been used as a shop and cafe.

A consultation into the change of use of the building is now taking place.

The plans include space for two barbers’ workstations and a treatment room.

The town council and Richmond Business and Tourism Association will be asked to comment before a decision is taken.
