Beacon to be lit for Queen’s Jubilee in Richmond

The programme of events to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee in Richmond has been announced.

The celebrations include the lighting of a beacon to mark 70 years of the Queen’s reign.

Four days of events and activities are planned int he town.

These include:

Thursday, June 2

Free outdoor cinema event at Richmondshire Cricket Club in Hurgill Road.

  • Children’s film 3pm showing  –  Sing 2
  • Family film 6.30pm showing  –  No Time to Die  James Bond

Bring a deckchair and picnic. Refreshments available.

Lighting of the beacon, to be viewed from Richmond Racecourse

The beacon will be lit at 9.45pm.

Friday, June 3

Jubilee Walk starting from Nuns Close Car Park at 10.30am

Walk to be approximately four miles

Wear suitable footwear and clothing

Dogs allowed on leads

Refreshments available at the Town Hall afterwards

Saturday, June 4

Children’s sports, crafts and entertainment in Friary Gardens from 1pm to 3pm

Prizes to be won.

Sunday, June 5

Richmond Meet Procession at 10am starting from Nuns Close

Sunday family festival at Richmondshire Cricket Club
