Beauty of horses to be celebrated at art exhibition

The beauty of horses will be celebrated through art at an exhibition taking place later this month.

The Garden Rooms at Tennants in Leyburn is hosting the Society of Equestrian Artists’ annual The Horse in Art exhibition from October 10 to 29.

The exhibition, showcasing the works of some of the UK’s most renowned equestrian artists, will feature a spectrum of styles, from classical to contemporary, across a wide range of media.

The artworks will be submitted by equestrian artists from around the UK, and all works will be for sale.

A catalogue of the work will also be available to view online ahead of the exhibition.

Jane Braithwaite SEA, chair of the society, who lives and works locally, said: “After a difficult time for Art Societies, we are delighted to be going from strength to strength.

“The Garden Rooms at Tennants is a perfect venue for us, being a hub for arts and culture in the Yorkshire Dales on the outskirts of the town of Leyburn and near to the racehorse training centre of Middleham.”

The exhibition is open daily and is free to enter.
