Beauty training centre named best North-East training academy for second year in a row

Catterick Garrison’s Beauty Training Hub has been named the best training academy North-East for the second year in a row.

The business won the accolade at the Great British Hair and Beauty Awards 2022.

The awards showcase those who promote excellence within the hair and beauty industry.

Christine Straub is the head tutor and has worked as a beauty therapist since leaving school and running a salon of her own.

While training and managing her staff, she realised that she had a passion to train others and raise the standards of training, so she decided to complete her PGCE in 2008, and moved on to work in various local colleges before opening The Beauty Training Hub with Tracy Fisher in 2019.

Christine said: “It is always important to us that our students leave the academy with a deep understanding of the treatment so that they can start offering it in their salon immediately.

“Therefore, all courses are accredited and certified and there is lifetime support for all our students.

“Our mission is for The Beauty Training Hub training to be a benchmark within the industry.

“Our academy is just that, an academy. It is not a salon with a small room that we use for training on the side. It is spacious and has lots of natural light to allow our students the room to work in and learn properly. Many of our students comment that The Hub is like a family.

“We pride ourselves on being friendly, approachable, down to earth and our training is relaxed and fun.”
