An afternoon of racing, local beer, live music and family entertainment is set to return to Catterick Racecourse later this month for the popular Beer Festival Raceday.
The event, taking place on Saturday, May 30, has become one of the best-attended fixtures of the racecourse’s Flat season and is being staged once again in partnership with Pennine Brewing Co.
Now in its eighth year, the raceday combines a seven-race card with a beer festival featuring a range of locally brewed ales and ciders, alongside live music and family attractions.
Racegoers will be able to sample around a dozen beers from Pennine Brewing Co throughout the afternoon, including traditional ales, lighter golden beers and seasonal specials.
Debbie Clayton, from Pennine Brewing Co, said organisers were looking forward to returning to the event.
“There’s something special about good racing, live music and proper Yorkshire beer all coming together in one place, and we’re delighted to be involved for another year on what will be a fantastic day,” she said.
The first race is scheduled for 1.55pm, with the final race due off at 5.17pm. Live band The Black Marcs will perform during the afternoon, while the racecourse will remain open until 6.30pm to allow visitors to continue enjoying the entertainment after racing finishes.
Families are also expected to be a major part of the day, with a range of free children’s attractions available in the Course Enclosure.
Young visitors will be able to enjoy inflatable activities including the Jungle Run assault course, Meltdown sweeper game, a bouncy castle and soft play area, all included within admission.
Emma Stevenson, General Commercial Manager at Catterick Racecourse, said the raceday continued to offer something for all ages.
“We’re proud to continue our partnership with Pennine Brewing Co this year for what promises to be another superb day out,” she said.
“There’s something on offer for everyone to enjoy at this raceday, from the racing action to the live music and beer festival, and free children’s entertainment.”
Gates will open at 11.30am, with advance booking discounts available until midnight on Thursday, May 28.
The racecourse is also introducing a new Horseshoe Package, which includes entry to the Grandstand and Paddock Enclosure, a meal from the Horseshoe Café Bar and a racecard.
Under-18s can attend free when accompanied by an adult, while concessions are available for students, over-65s and military personnel.
Further information and tickets are available from Catterick Racecourse.
