Bolton Castle has been shortlisted in the North of England Wedding Awards for the Countryside Venue award.

Only couples who have tied the knot at the venue are eligible to vote, so bosses say the they are delighted their smaller venue Bolton Castle has been shortlisting among other larger venues in the region.

Jacqui Naylor, general manager at the castle, said: “This is lovely news to be a finalist in such awards and a real boost for the entire team who ensure weddings at Bolton Castle exceed all the expectations of our couples, their families and friends.

“The fact that those who have direct experience of our wedding offer have voted for us is excellent news. We want every wedding to be the memorable and wonderful event everyone imagines and this shortlisting is testament to the hard work we put in for our couples.

“As a much-loved visitor attraction, we work hard to bring a programme of excellent visitor events between March and November, with weddings and private event hire offered all year round.

“To date it has worked well and whether our couples opt for private or shared hire, the castle provides a fairy tale day whatever your plans or budget. The awards will be announced in October but we feel we have already won with our shortlisting.”
