Bonfire Night round-up: times and locations for all the public events

Bonfire Night celebrations are taking place across Richmondshire this year.

Events to mark Guy Fawkes’ failed gunpowder plot of 1605 will be held in a number of towns and villages in and around the district.

These include:

 

Bedale

Bedale bonfire and fireworks will be held on Saturday, November 4. The fire will be lit at 6.15pm and the fireworks will start at 7pm. Novelties and catering available from 5pm. Admission is free, but donations welcomed. Shuttle service and Wensleydale Railway service available. Click here for details.

Catterick Garrison

Bonfire and fireworks from 6pm to 8.30pm on Friday, November 3 in Horne Road. Free event. Murphy’s Fun Fair will be in attendance. Refreshments available from 5.30pm. No alcohol or sparklers.

Hawes

The bonfire and fireworks will take place at Hawes Community Field on Sunday, November 5. Gates open at 6pm, fire lit at 6.45pm. Admission fee but there’s a suggested donation of £3 per person. Refreshments and novelties available.

Leyburn

The bonfire and fireworks, organised by Wensleydale Round Table, will take place on Sunday, November 5 at the Shawl. The fire will be lit at 6.30pm and the fireworks will start at 7pm. Free, but donations welcomed.

Reeth

Reeth village bonfire and fireworks display will be held on the village green on Sunday, November 5.  The judging of the guys begins at 6pm – the winner will receive a prize and their guy will be placed on top of the bonfire which will be lit at 6.30pm. The fireworks display begins at 7pm and a barbecue is available throughout the evening. Admission is free and a cash collection is taken to support future village events.

Richmond

Richmond Town Council is running a fireworks display at Richmond School on Sunday, November 5. Gates open at 6pm with the fireworks starting at 7pm. Free entry but there’s a suggested donation of £1. No sparklers or pets allowed.

Wensley

Bonfire and fireworks on Saturday, November 4. All welcome and donations towards next years display will be appreciated. Food will be served afterwards at the village hall. Bonfire lit at 6.30pm and fireworks at 7pm. The event will be in the field on Low Lane after the cemetery.

West Burton

The bonfire and fireworks will take place on Saturday, November 4 on the village green. The fire will be lit at 6.30pm and the fireworks will start at 7pm. Barbecue and drinks at the Fox and Hounds.

West Witton

Bonfire and fireworks on Saturday, November 4 at the playing fields. All welcome. No charge, just donations on the night. Licensed Bar from 6pm, bonfire lit at 6.30pm and fireworks at 7pm.
