
Bonfire Night will be celebrated at public events across Richmondshire this year.
Although some annual events have been cancelled, there are still fireworks displays taking place in the district.
Here’s a list of the public events in and around Richmondshire:
Bedale — Saturday, November 6. Bonfire lit at 6.15pm, fireworks from 7pm. Refreshments and novelties available from 5pm. This event is free entry, however organisers ask for a donation on the evening by bucket collection to go towards the cost of next year’s event.
Catterick — Thursday, November 4 in Horne Road, Catterick Garrison. 6pm to 8.30pm. Bonfire and fireworks, plus special guest former boxing champion Glenn McGrory and Murphy’s Funfair. Refreshments available. No alcohol or sparklers.
Leyburn — Friday, November 5 at the Shawl in Leyburn. Fire lit at 6.30pm and fireworks from 7pm. Free entry, but donations accepted on exit. Refreshments available.
Northallerton — Friday, November 5 at the Applegarth car park. The bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm and fireworks will start at 7pm. Free entry. Refreshments available.
Reeth — Friday, November 5 on the green. Bonfire and fireworks. The judging of the guys begins at 6pm – the winner will receive a prize and their guy will be placed on top of the bonfire which will be lit at 6.30pm. The fireworks display begins at 7pm and a barbecue is available throughout the evening. Admission is free and a bucket collection will be taken to support future village events.
West Burton — Saturday, November 6 on the village green. Bonfire lit at 6.30pm, fireworks at 7pm. No admission charge.
West Witton — Saturday, November 6 on the village playing fields. Licensed Bar from 6pm, bonfire lit at 6.30pm and fireworks at 7pm. No charge, but donations accepted.
