A new book has been published which celebrates a Dales family quest to breed to best Swaledale sheep.
Seasons on the Hill Farm has been released by Richmond author and photographer Ian Short.
The book is an account of the Calvert family and their multigenerational quest to breed the best Swaledale sheep.
The text of this 170-page book is illustrated with original black and white and colour photos taken over the seasons and are a tribute to the remote landscape and the dedication of the farming families who preserve it.
The publication has been made possible with funding from the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority’s Sustainable Development Fund.
All proceeds go to support Swaledale charities.
