A book of condolences has been opened following the death from Covid-19 of a well-known nightclub manager.

Tributes have been paid online to David Parker, manager of Club Louis in Catterick Garrison.

Well-wishers described David as a “truly amazing guy” and “one of the nicest people I’ve ever met”.

The venue announced on Monday that David had passed away.

The club said: “It is with enormous regret that we have to announce the passing of our manager, David Parker.

“He was being treated for the effects of COVID in Darlington Memorial Hospital, but lost his struggle this afternoon.

“On behalf of the whole Louis Family, we offer our deepest condolences to his family and friends, he will be sorely missed.

“A pragmatic man, David would want the show to go on, so we remain open with the families agreement. RIP David, Mr LOUIS.”

A book of condolences has been opened at the club which will be passed to David’s family.

His funeral will be on August 19.

There will be a private ceremony at Darlington Crematorium followed by a wake at Louis Bar for family and friends.
