The Bridge receives Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service

The Bridge in Catterick Garrison has been presented with the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.

Volunteers, Trustees and staff travelled to Scampston Hall to receive their award from the Vice Lord Lieutenant, Peter Scrope.

The centre based in Shute Road provides help and support for the elderly to lead and independent and fulfilling life.

“We were absolutely delighted to receive this award.” said chair Deirdre Edgar.

“We have been supporting older people in the community for 30 years, and our services have constantly evolved to meet the increasingly complex needs of our members.

“We hope this award will show them, and their families, that they can have confidence in us.

“Members enjoy a party, so we are looking forward to having a celebration.”
